Planner 2 (Affordable Housing)
Work closely with our Manager, Affordable Housing, coordinating affordable housing developments, supporting housing policy and research initiatives, manage studies and consultants, and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders to advance the City’s affordable housing objectives. This role needs someone who brings a professional results-oriented focus, customer service attitude and history providing high quality research, options, analysis, recommendations, report writing, editing, team building and prioritization.
Manager, Health, Safety and Wellness
As the Manager, you’ll be instrumental in supporting and ensuring the safety and wellness of our employees. Your influence will permeate across various departments, from public works to administrative functions, setting a high standard for safety and well-being in each operational facet.
Reporting to the Manager, Plan Review, the Code Engineer provides expert knowledge in support of technical review of designs and specifications for complex buildings in order to determine compliance to the BC Building Code, applicable standards, and the City’s Building Regulation Bylaw. Duties will focus on providing expert evaluation of building systems as presented through applications for permit and advising the management on technical issues and evaluation of alternate solutions. The successful candidate will work with plan review and inspections staff, and professional consultants to develop consistent decisions with respect to interpretations of building regulations. An emphasis on structural engineering expertise is emphasized. For the right candidate there is also considerable opportunity to move into management roles and provide progressive leadership to the department.
